About Me

Alyse, founder of Grace & Geek Boutique

Hi, I’m Alyse, the person behind Grace & Geek Boutique.

Grace & Geek is what happened when I finally stopped worrying about whether all the things I love were supposed to fit neatly together and just decided to make the shop I wanted to make.

Faith. Books. Geeky things. History. Graphic tees. Cozy seasonal stuff. Family recipes. A little nostalgia. A little chaos.

At some point I decided, honestly, who cares if it all matches?

I love what I love, and I wanted a place where I could create around all of it without constantly asking whether it was too much, too random, too niche, or what somebody else might think about it.

So I jumped in.

And that is pretty much the heart of Grace & Geek.

Faith, Geekery & Whatever Else I’m Into

I’m a Christian, a lifelong geek, a wife, a dog mom, a home cook, a baker, and someone who has never been especially interested in having just one hobby.

My faith is a huge part of who I am, but so are the books, movies, music, history, characters, stories, and ridiculously specific things that have made me laugh or stuck with me over the years.

Sometimes I create something because it means a lot to me.

Sometimes it is nostalgic.

Sometimes it is just funny.

Sometimes I have an idea and think, "Yep, I need that on a shirt."

That is kind of the whole point.

Grace & Geek gives me the freedom to follow those ideas wherever they go.

From My Family’s Kitchen

Cooking and baking are a huge part of my life too.

Some of my favorite recipes are not fancy or trendy. They are the ones that have been made over and over in my family. The recipes written on old cards, tucked into cookbooks, passed down through generations, and tied to people and memories I never want to lose.

That is why the recipe side of Grace & Geek means so much to me.

These are not random recipes pulled together just to make a product. They come from real kitchens, real family traditions, lots of memories, and a whole lot of good food.

Being able to preserve those recipes and share them feels really special.

Basically, I Decided to Go For It

For a long time, I think I felt like everything needed to make perfect sense before I could really go all in.

The brand needed to fit into one neat category.

The ideas needed to match.

The timing needed to be right.

At some point, I got tired of waiting for all of that.

I decided I would rather build something I genuinely love than spend forever trying to make it fit somebody else’s idea of what a boutique is supposed to look like.

So Grace & Geek gets to be a little bit of everything.

It gets to be meaningful and silly.

Faith-filled and geeky.

Bookish and nostalgic.

Cozy and loud.

A family recipe one minute and a graphic tee the next.

And I am completely okay with that.

Life Outside the Shop

When I’m not working on Grace & Geek, I’m usually spending time with my husband, cooking or baking something, or being closely supervised by Abby and Daisy, my two dogs who are both fully convinced they are management. 🐾

Grace & Geek will probably keep changing and growing because I do too.

I do not want it to become so polished or carefully boxed-in that it stops feeling like me.

I want it to stay fun.

I want it to stay personal.

I want there to always be room for the next random idea I fall in love with and decide I absolutely have to make.

If something here makes you laugh, reminds you of something you love, speaks to your faith, brings back a memory, or ends up becoming part of one of your own family traditions, then I think this little shop is doing exactly what I hoped it would.

Thanks for being here and supporting my little corner of the internet.

It really does mean a lot.
